Your Child’s First Appointment
Meadow Creek Family Dentistry is proud to serve patients who are four years old and older. Once a child has reached preschool age, they may have vivid memories of the dentist’s office at this point and have started to become afraid of dental appointments. Our team wants you to know that we always do everything we can to ensure that you and your children have positive, pleasant experiences at our practice. Before their first appointment with us, you are welcome to bring them in for a quick tour to become familiar with our office and staff members. We also recommend speaking to them positively about the dentist and emphasizing the importance of going regularly.

Kid-Friendly Services
Our practice offers a number of kid-friendly services, from routine checkups to dental sealants to athletic mouthguards. We also offer clear aligner therapy through ClearCorrect for responsible teenagers who are interested in clear braces.

At-Home Dental Care
Bringing your child in twice per year for cleanings and exams is an important part of helping them maintain healthy teeth and gums from a young age. However, maintaining a regular oral care routine at home plays an even bigger role in your child’s oral health. For children under six years old, use a soft bristle brush and a pea-sized amount of toothpaste or less and help them brush their teeth for approximately two minutes, twice per day. For babies who don’t have teeth yet, use a damp washcloth to wipe their gums to clear away bacteria. Even though baby teeth are not permanent, it is still important to keep them clean and healthy, and introduce positive dental habits to kids from a young age in the hope that they will continue those good habits well into adulthood.

Family Dentistry vs. Pediatric Dentistry
Are you deciding between a pediatric dentist or a family dentist for your child? Pediatric dentists receive special training to learn how to treat babies, children, and teens and cater to their unique needs. Family dentists can also treat patients of all ages, including children, and they tend to have a passion for working with younger patients. By visiting a family dental practice, parents can also keep their family’s dental care under one roof, and the entire household can see the same friendly dental team.
