Dental implants work like a replacement tooth root. A titanium post is surgically inserted into your jawbone at the site of the missing tooth. Over the next few months, the bone fuses around the post and it becomes part of the jawbone. This allows the implant to replicate the missing tooth root. A crown or bridge is then attached to the post, restoring full function and aesthetics.

Before the implant surgery, our dental team will administer a local anesthetic. Patients may feel some pressure at the implant site, but the procedure isn’t painful. If you feel like you need a stronger anesthesia, then talk to us about our sedation options. The implant site may feel tender for the first few days, but after that, you shouldn’t be able to feel the implant at all.
