Are My Teeth Too Crooked for ClearCorrect?
January 25, 2021 9:55 pm |Do you wish you had a straighter smile? You may think that metal braces are your only option. Some patients find traditional braces to be uncomfortable and challenging to keep clean. For those looking for an alternative, we offer ClearCorrect at Meadow Creek Family Dentistry! If you’re worried your teeth are too crooked for clear aligners, read on to learn what dental problems clear aligner therapy can fix.
What Is ClearCorrect?
ClearCorrect® aligners are clear plastic trays that fit over your teeth. You can smile with confidence because the aligners are essentially invisible. They’re much more comfortable than metal braces, too. When you eat or brush your teeth, you remove the aligners. It’s important to wear your aligners for at least 20-22 hours a day.
What Can ClearCorrect Fix?
While ClearCorrect aligners can’t address every orthodontic issue, they can fix a variety of mild to moderate issues, such as crooked teeth, spacing issues, and some minor bite issues. For severe misalignment, we’ll most likely recommend traditional metal braces. Don’t conclude that you won’t qualify without visiting us for a consultation though. People often assume that their teeth are worse than they really are!
How Does the Process Work?
If you’re a good candidate for ClearCorrect, the first thing we’ll do is get pictures and dental impressions of your teeth. We’ll send these to ClearCorrect to be scanned. They’ll create a 3D model of your smile, working with us to get the mold just the way we want it. They’ll create the trays and send them to us. Every two weeks, you replace the aligners with a new set as your teeth shift closer to your goal. It depends on your specific dental problem, but average treatment time is about 12-24 months.
