Meadow Creek Family Dentistry

Technology

We pride ourselves on creating a small-town feel in our practice, but we also appreciate the ease of treatment that state-of-the-art technology has brought to our patients.

Dr. Hunt and Dr. Caldwell stay current with all the latest emerging dental technologies. After carefully reviewing them all, we choose only those that streamline your treatment and provide the best possible outcomes. We look forward to welcoming you personally to our office to show you how these technologies can benefit you!

Panoramic X-Rays

Panoramic x-rays take highly detailed, two-dimensional images that include the teeth, upper and lower jaws, and surrounding structures and tissues in just one x-ray. Digital panoramic imaging is quick and comfortable and significantly reduces your exposure to radiation.

This technology allows us to take highly-detailed images of your teeth. The process is easy and comfortable because we take true extra-oral (outside the mouth) x-rays without the need for traditional x-ray films placed in your mouth. Digital panoramic imaging is quick and comfortable and significantly reduces your exposure to radiation. This technology is especially beneficial for young children who can’t tolerate intraoral (inside the mouth) x-rays.

Digital X-Rays & Sensors

Many common dental issues start to develop beneath the enamel or gum tissue. Digital x-rays allow us to catch these problems when they’re small, long before you experience any discomfort. Additionally, digital x-rays use significantly less radiation than film x-rays. Some estimates say they reduce your exposure by as much as 80%!

Using state-of-the-art digital x-rays, we can project the image directly on our computer monitors so you see exactly what we see. Our doctors can manipulate the image, making it larger or smaller so you can clearly see the problem and why treatment is needed.

Digital images can also be stored securely in your patient record, making it easy to send them electronically to specialists and insurance providers when necessary. And because no chemicals are required to process digital images, they are actually better for the environment!

Rotary Endodontics

If you’ve ever had a root canal, you probably didn’t think too much about the tools your dentist used. The traditional method is to use stainless steel manual files. However, at Meadow Creek Family Dentistry, we use rotary endodontic technology that makes your treatment smoother and more comfortable.

Rotary endodontics are electrically powered instruments equipped with a nickel titanium tip, which is up to five times more flexible than traditional stainless steel tools. This flexibility combined with the unique movement of the rotary instrument makes for a more efficient and reliable procedure.

Intraoral Cameras

Visual dental exams have been a valuable diagnostic tool for decades, but today we take the visual exam one step further. If being able to see what’s happening on the surface of your teeth is beneficial, imagine being able to see it in enlarged detail!

Intraoral cameras do just that. Using a small camera that’s about the size of a pen, we can perform visual exams that provide us with highly detailed and accurate images. These images don’t just help your dentists to make more accurate diagnoses. They can be projected onto a computer monitor so that we can view them together.

You can see exactly what we’re seeing, which makes you an important part of the treatment process. When you can see the problem, you’re much more likely to make confident decisions about your treatment.
